hi, it's the september holidays now, and i have more time to blog, i guess. haven't been really mugging much, except for saturday. i stayed in ahma's house til tonight, and somehow, after leaving that lively and noisy palace in yishun and coming back to this quiet home, i felt empty. there's like, no one to talk to and all, maybe it's just me, who doesn't want to open up... but yeah, if that's the case, i doubt nothing much will change too. the times i spend at home is somewhat insignificant to make me do something about it. I GUESS.
so... i've bought the latest NICHOLAS SPARKS BOOK, THE LAST SONG. actually i've just realised the movie is coming out january next year, even before DEAR JOHN hits theatres. so, yea, i think i have abit of catching up to do! can't wait for the movies!
oh yea, xinling, BANDSLAM???
well, days spent at ahma's were always fruitful. i get to get pampered and fattened up before i hit on the books again. i finished reading sophie kinsella's REMEMBER ME? and i thought it was a good read. at least after being so melancholic after my nicholas sparks days. that book's so hilarious i almost laughed my tooth off. okay, a bit way too off, but you get the point.
i watched g-force with ahleng ahyi, and cousins, and their cousins, which explains the title if this post. haha, the 2 little ones are cute. they actually reminded me to really work hard for o's and towards my desired course in the poly. hopefully, i can get in, i'll keep my fingers crossed! well, that movie's quite cool, it's like the kiddy version of TRANSFORMERS. and with a moral behind, as usual. i'm beginning to love disney flicks more and more. i wonder how long will it take to have my cable tv back again, DAD?
something's been bugging my mind since my piano lesson on saturday. sighs. i've been thinking of postponing my grade 8 practical examination to july instead of having it on march next year. there's always so much things to do, and so little time. i still have my theory examinations on march to fret on. sighs, life's a climb, but i know i have to keep on climbing. hopefully the view is so great i melt. haha. so, problem is, i don't know how to get this through my mom. postponing examination dates= more fees to pay. how can i get the message through that there's more chance to score if i'm given more time to prepare? and honestly, who doesn't want to pass their grade8 WITH FLYING COLOURS asap? i'd be glad to do so if i had the capabilities to, so that i can earn big bucks sooner. but problem is, i'm not sure i can. there's still so many things to do, and i really wouldn't like life after the o's to be solely dedicated for piano only. ms chong said it would be better to postpone, and i understand. but will my mom accept it? sighs.
but i've decided. if she's on the fence about it, god knows what i'll do but to pay the 'extra' fees myself. and i'll dedicate the song 'heartless' to my mother too!
lols, joking. i don't think my mom's gonna make me pay. but she's gonna nag, no doubt. key to solving the problem is EFFECTIVE PERSUASION.
way to go, GAN GEK TENG.

i'm indeed going to miss this.
my new found song i love.
the lyrics are just so meaningful and applicable to me.
i guess i'm really going to miss everything when it eventually comes to an end.
sighs, where are all the good times.
enjoy, while i tune out for the day.

life doesn't wait for anyone
wow, i've got so many things to post suddenly. the end of prelims sure gave me so many opportunities to embrace a carefree lifestyle that i've come to enjoy over the years. for the record, i finished reading 2 books, and had the time of my life with huiting and clique and the usuals for HUANGZU.
let's talk about the lunch first. we went to celebrate xinling's belated and zhaoyi's birthday yesterday at pizza hut. god, it's real fun and wacky, although most of the time i'm buried in the contents of my lovely book, I ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT HAPPENED:D. so we bought a cake and had some special request. actually what kind, i didn't really know at first, cos' huiting's the activity overall-in-charge this time. hahaha! it's quite cartoon though. she acted like one of the staffs in 'black shirt' by actually wearing one herself, and led us like a tourguide in causeway point when we're scouting for presents.
so we ate and crapped and ate. god, i remembered how hungry i was; going straight to the library with bernice they all, looking at baby names and all. it's really so hilarious back there. oh yea, THANKS HUITING HOR! lol, i was busy reading my book and she was the one who took my order(remember the thing about the staffs in black shirts?) and did all the arrangements for me and my food. i'm thankful la, friend! but pizza hut, being pizza hut, served up the wrong thing, which i expected, and while everyone's food was already served up, they actually waited for mine to come AGAIN before eating. as usual, we started after 'ITADAKIMAS!-ing' which was real sweet. such darlings; my friends.
after that we actually stayed back for admin stuffs. lols! it was so funny. because the tables and chairs were lined up in a way that reminded me of a scene in THE PRINCESS DIARIES, were everyone was seated in 2 rows with a table in between them, i was tempted to try one of the practices i've seen in the movie during that scene. THAT WAS TO USE THE SPOON TO KNOCK THE SIDE OF THE GLASS CUP. lols! and it served its purpose! soon enough, everyone ws looking up and paying attention. everyone as in, including people seated near us. strangers. so it was quite an experience. i can't wait for all the gatherings and chalets we'll be planning! WOOTS!
after that some of them(the main comm, i suppose...LOLS!) went MIA for a while, looking for the cake perhaps. and when they returned the whole pizza hut was filled with the song 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU~' sung by, i think, a choir person. on the radio i mean, lol! it's so choir-ish i freaked out. i didn't even know there's this kind of services provided in pizza hut and even suspected they would charge us more GST in the end. which eventually didn't happen. THANK GOD. so everyone freaked out, but luckily maintained a composure. well, everyone except me i guess. i was laughing until i literally wanted to roll on the floor. such a surprise for everyone; not only the birthday girls.
so we ate again, the cake this time round. actually i don't think we eat, i think we stuffed ourselves with the cake. can you imagine how full you already are after eating a whole serving of pasta and soup? if you can't, YOU REALLY CAN'T IMAGINE IT. but some of us really nearly exploded. i didn't even felt like eating dinner when i reached home, AND JERICA WENT TO THE RESTROOM 4 TIMES WITHIN ONE HOUR.
yanjun bernice jerica peck and me went shop around to get rid of the excess food in our stomachs, while the rest went to yueqi's house 'swimming'. the one without water, you know! so we went to popular and stood at a place and chatted about stuffs. haha, i didn't even know why we're doing this, but everything seemed natural enough and soon we're beginning our small-talk session right in the middle of nowhere. random, i know, but i got used to it.
then we went library again, where i continued reading THE BOOK, and the rest looking for DIY books to challenge themselves on. then eventually we went home la.
okay, now PART II. THE BOOK.
actually i've waited so long since i've finished the book to say this:
NICHOLAS SPARKS IS DA' BOMB!!!
ahh! finally said it. such wonderful stories. i wept alot yesterday. GOD, HELP ME.
was reading 'the choice' by nicholas sparks. he's such a good writer; makes readers fall in love with his characters, and takes a twist in the story, making readers like me weep. LITERALLY. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT. especially i was innocently out there imagining zac and vanessa were the couple. makes me cry even more in the end. LUCKILY IT WAS A HAPPY ENDING. or else i'd go hunt nicholas sparks down and demand an alternate ending immediately.
i had thought 'a walk to remember' was already an achievement of mine - if not his - but 'the choice' was the first book that made me cry so much tears literally started like a tap with water flowing. okay, enough of that.
another book i've completed was 'just beyond the clouds'. gosh, i wished i could purchase all these favourite books of mine so i can read it whenever i want. this was the second installment for the cody gunner series. the last one too. i'm just fated to meet the first book JUST AFTER i completed the second one. well, i didn't give the first a try, because i literally knew what happened there when i read the second one. so, yea. it's with meixia now. A THOUSAND TOMORROWS. cheesy, AND TOUCHING. and now i'm scared of books that will actually make me cry. oh, karen kingsbury is the author by the way.
make a grab for those books and read them if you have the chance. woodlands library has quite an array of karen kingsbury's books, and yishun's one has some of nicholas sparks when you go there at the right time.
so, yea, that's about it. i can't believe i typed such a long post at the start of the day. i'm sure mr tsung or miss jasmine lim will be proud of me. HAHA! today's national day celebration in school. OUR LAST ONE IN SCHOOL. OMIGOD. why is there always a last to EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING?! i don't like it. i don't like farewells, and i don't like a last EVERYTHING. the feeling just sucked, especially when it's with people whom you've come to relate to so much more in a way or another.

selfless giving
at first, i watched this video because i found it in a zac efron forum. watched it solely for that reason too. and now, after watching this 2 parts of video, i found a deeper, and whole lot meaning to it. screw zac for now, this 9 year old girl is someone i have come to respect and learn from after watching the videos.
it's about how Tierney Jasper, at the age of 5, came to know about how kids were suffering around the world, and had since decided that she must do something about it. currently 9years old. what she did, you just have to watch the videos yourself.
from her, i've learnt that, there's a huge difference to knowing the sufferings of people and NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT, and actually REALIZING, and most importantly, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. we have, including me, lived in happiness and stability for most probably, the whole of our lives. and although, through TV programmes and all, we know of sufferings and people or animals who needed help, most of us just feel pitiful, cry over their sufferings, and DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. now i find that VERY MEANINGLESS. what's the point, if you don't do anything to make a difference?
but this young girl, meek age of only 9, actually did something to make a difference. i think she desrved that zac efron hug. lols. i won't be jealous or envious over it/ HAHAA! in fact, i felt a sense of guilt, realizing how selfish we all are, and how selfless these innocent children can be. you should really take a look at her younger brother's expression when he knew how much the organization donated.
this post was not expressed as well as i hope i did, but i guess a view at the 2videos below would give you a larger picture of what i'm referring to.

this is such a happy lesson day~~~
kids. always that hyper and cute and innocent. i wish i could be like them the whole time, and do not have any huge and major responsibilities to worry about. sighs, life gets more complicated when you're older. as i'm thinking about how nice it would be to be a kid once again, at the same time i can't wait to grow up and build my own future. so there's the irony. you can't really get enough of what life is offering, and often get greedy. in the end, you don't really know what you really want.
i wish i could be a kid. in that way i don't have to think about the complicated things in life. in that way i'll just live in my own happy world made up of nothing but treats. i'll not know about how global warming is affecting our earth, and how the fragile lives of human beings are destroyed when disasters of all kinds strikes. i'll never come to know about how humans can be scheming and scrulpulous when it comes to fame and money. and this is always the time where pure and genuine friendships are formed. it is when 2 little persons just converse, and seconds later they'll become best friends. all because of the fact that you don't have to be anyone but yourself.
i wish i could stay in this phase of my life too, as a teenager. in that way i won't have to think about how my future will turn out to be. in that way i can also get freedom. in that way i'll be able to stay in the moment and not part with all those beautifully imperfect friends that i've made. in that way i'll be able to do silly things with them, and not worry about how other people look at us. in that way we can walk in the rain singing loudly and not care about a damn thing.
i wish i could grow up fast. in that way i'll be rid of my duties and responsibilities from my studies, and be able to earn money to support my family, and obtain the standard of living i've always dreamt to have. in that way, i'll be able to live up to my dreams and make a difference to the world, however small my contribution may be. in that way, i could afford to go travelling around the world, like i always dream of doing. in that way, i can meet lots of different people and view life with different perspectives.
sometimes, i wish i could just sleep, and wake up, and eat, and do things that i like, without any responsibilities, without restrictions, without reservations. i could be as crazy, or as melancholic whenever i like, without having to think about how others may see me.
however perfect my wishes are, well, one has to face up to reality. the harsh and cruel reality. life must go on. and i've come to understand; do not be sorry for the things you've done in the past, live your life to the fullest everyday, cherish them, and hold them tight with both hands, and always be hopeful of the future, and wherever it might take you.
i'll learn to be contented and cherish the times i have now in my last few months of my ever so wonderful secondary school life. it'll be hard to let them go; but life has to go on, and one have to move on. but wherever one may go, the ties that are bonded will never break. but will strengthen as time pass. with you guys as friends, i'm beginning to believe in this. i can see in like,30years later in our lives, when we come together and laugh about the past. and our oh-so-wonderfully imperfect teenage lives.
and once again, i've posted such a philosophical and somewhat melancholic post. i don't know how, but feelings just came pouring into me. so yeah.
cl olevel is on monday. and i believe as long as i do my best, put in hard work, i'll eventually get what i want. this applies to the rest of my subjects too.
i've decided not to post pictures today. doesn't really suit the mood of this post.
''when life offers you a dream so far beyond any of your expectations, it's not reasonable to grieve when it comes to an end.''
however hard it may seem, i'll try to live up to this quote. i promise.

inspired.
i've come to listening to more of CORRINNE MAY'S songs. haha. another talent from singapore. but yeai came to realise i liked her songs; how her lyrics went. inspiring lyrics that i'm now fond of. it's just crazy how someone can write songs like that. she must have felt for alot. haha. i don't think i could do that. hehe. but maybe i'll try. just MAYBE.
hmms. these few days were such a breeze la. not much going on. i've been buried in my NORA ROBERTS books since. completed reading 2, now starting on the 3rd one i've just borrowed yesterday. WRL seemed to have increased their numbers of book now, i realised. another silly aim of mine: to finish reading her MacGregor series. reading on the 3rd book now, and have 3 more to go. (provided i can find those books. HOPEFULLY. )
i've given the japan form to my parents. and they haven't give it back to me, nor even an answer. i'm disappointed. i'm, hmms. IRRITATED. ANNOYED. and i don't want to continue anymore.
i've clarified my doubts in youth class. so i hope nothing will go wrong for my sciences papers. i'll keep my fingers crossed. i've been doing the papers that Miss Wong gave. it's a lucky thing answers were given. at least i can work at my own pace and not rush for datelines and all. these datelines and all stopped me from doing my work. haha. i know i'm wierd. but now having to work on my own pace and check for the answers myself. hmms. i guess that's what i've wanted all along. this study plan actually suits me. or made me comfortable with it. hmms. i hope i can have good results ba.
